Our Church History

On October 2, 1994 Rev. A.V. Jackson, Rev. James Williamson, Deacon Kenneth Allsbrook and six other members came together to organize a new beginning we voted to meet twice a month, and collect our tithes and offerings. We all became excited and started to talk about what our church would encompass we selected a motto:  “Christians working together can make a difference.”

We stood on the scripture Matthew 18:20 for where two or three are gathered together in my name there am I in midst of them. After much prayer and seeking guidance from God we voted to call our Church New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church.

The purpose of forming New Freedom MBC is to create an open church for all people who truly seek the knowledge and truth of God’s word. We are committed to teaching the word of God that men and women will be free of the entanglement of ignorance. We are committed to disciplining men and women that they may be free of restraints of legalism. We are committed to the mission’s that the saving truth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can be told to men and women where ever they are. We also support missions, those who are in darkness and depression. That they might hear and believe and be saved and know the joy and freedom that is in the word of God.

In December, 2002 Rev. Jackson left and Rev. Garry Mitchell served as pastor from 2003-2009. We were blest to have Rev. Bell, Rev. Bynum, and Rev. Hawkins associated ministers from New Hope Church to serve. Later Rev. Kerry Hawkins served as interim pastor.

On August 26, 2012  Rev. Kerry Hawkins was installed to be the shepherd over this Great Church.

To God Be Glory for All He Has Done Bless His Holy Name!
